Terms of Use
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the Lumaki iOS application (“Lumaki” or “the app”), operated by Studio Kamay (“we,” “our,” or “us”). By downloading or using Lumaki, you agree to these Terms.
1. The Service
Lumaki transforms health data from Apple Health into a living, procedurally generated plant. Lumaki is a wellness reflection tool, not a medical device. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always consult a qualified health professional for medical questions.
2. Free Trial and Subscriptions
- 30 days free (introductory offer): The 30 free days are an introductory offer on an auto-renewing subscription, provided through Apple. You subscribe during onboarding, and Apple requires a payment method on file to start the offer. You can cancel at any time during the 30 days and pay nothing; if you don't cancel, the subscription begins billing when the offer ends. Introductory-offer eligibility is determined by Apple.
- Plans: Continued plant growth requires an auto-renewing subscription: $4.99 per month or $39.99 per year (prices may vary by region and are shown in the App Store at purchase).
- If you decline to subscribe at onboarding: Your plant still grows free for 7 days, then freezes. You can subscribe at any time afterwards to resume growth.
- Billing: Subscriptions are purchased through, billed by, and managed entirely by Apple via your App Store account. We never see or store your payment details.
- Auto-renewal: Your subscription renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Cancelling: You can cancel anytime in your device's Settings → your Apple Account → Subscriptions. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
- Freezing, never resetting: Without an active subscription, your plant freezes at its current state. It never resets, shrinks, or is deleted, and you never lose the history you've grown. Subscribing or resubscribing resumes growth, including catch-up growth for the days you were away.
- What the subscription includes: Continued plant growth, and the three premium visual styles (Tuldok, Sapaw and Ukit). The Lumaki style is free. Cross-device sync, notifications and widgets are features of the app for everyone and are not part of the subscription.
- What is never gated: Your timeline and plant history. The plant cannot grow past the point it paused, so the history you can scrub back through is always exactly what you grew, and the days you grew stay yours permanently.
- Refunds: Refund requests are handled by Apple under App Store policies.
3. Health Data
Lumaki reads health data from Apple Health only with your explicit permission, processes it entirely on your device, and never transmits raw health data off your device. See our Privacy Policy for details.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to reverse engineer, resell, or misuse the app, and not to use it in violation of applicable law or Apple's App Store terms.
5. Intellectual Property
Lumaki, including its plant generation engine, designs, and content, is owned by Studio Kamay. Your plant is generated from your data for your personal use; the stills and timelapse videos you export are yours to share.
6. Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability
Lumaki is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Studio Kamay is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app.
7. Apple Standard EULA
Unless superseded by these Terms, your use of Lumaki is also subject to Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement.
8. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The revised version will be posted on this page with an updated “Last Updated” date. Continued use of Lumaki after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
